Highlights of 2011 (Part I)

Basically this part highlights the events when I was spending my holidays at my wonderful hometown--Ranau, Sabah the Land Below the Wind. It is during this time around that I am able to spend quality time with my childhood friends (some of us have known each other since kindergarten!), and ex-classmates as well as meeting new friends!
Talking about meeting new friends, I would like to introduce to you guys Manan (left) and Aoi (right).
Notice their attire? Yes, indeed they are Japanese who were happened to be students under an exchange program. They travel around Sabah and Sarawak to learn about our diverse cultures.
This is them in traditional Kadazandusun attire, very adorable I know!!! Hope to pay them a visit in their country some day.

And then, my matriculation friends came to visit my place. They came all the way from Tamparuli and we met at Pine Resort before going to our first stop--Desa Cattle, Mesilou.  From left: Clay, Ray, Velliana, Penny and me. =)
This is Penny becoming the fresh milk ambassador for free (hahaha, just kidding penny don't kill me). You can get fresh milk at  very affordable prices here at Desa Cattle.
Then off we go to Dream World Resort, it is a nice place to take pictures (especially for people like us because we love taking photos very very very much!!!) :D
The drivers.
After a quick lunch at the Cottage Hotel, we headed off to Kundasang War Memorial.

English garden.
After the trip to the war memorial, we headed to my place, Pekan Ranau, just a very small town. Bought some ingredients and straight away prepared for our fantastic BBQ dinner that night. (gained few kilos there! and we did some drinking too, oops!)

The next day we went to Poring Hot Spring to have some water fun, which is about 20-30 minutes drive from my place. The hot spring was named so (Poring) because of the abundance of a type of bamboo tree growing in that area.
With my gorgeous girlfriends!

It was towards the end of August and it's time for Hari Raya celebration. Attended 8 open houses with my close friends! (for few days I didn't have to cook for my meals, it was food galore! taste buds indulgence!! okay maybe I shall stop exaggerating, but it is soooo true). So in order to shed the extra spare tyres that we've gained, we decided to go for a paintball action woohoo! The place is Damai Eco ranch, a recreation spot (i guess, it hasn't fully finish constructed at that time) 15-20 minutes from the heart of Pekan Ranau.

On the way to the "battle field" :D
Briefing by the marshal.
All set to go!
Team Clint
Team Wen
1st break.
Back in action!
Well played everybody, well played. :P
Total amount to pay: RM320. (ka-ching!)

We ended the day by having a simple BBQ at Wen's. So much for shedding some weight huh, failed! hahahaha...

Almost 6 months!

Wow! Almost 6 months since the last time I blog (omg, i'm such a terrible blogger)

Well I had a hectic schedule during my semester break back then. Now it's pretty much the same, just that it's not as fun because I have to catch up deadlines for so many assignments and reports, not forgetting to study for quizzes as well as for the coming up final exam (gulp!). So why am I still manage to write this blog? (it's called time management people, time management...or i'm just actually trying to forget my never-ending homework for a while...oh crap now i remember about it already)

Being on classes during December is quite unusual for me, and I believe most of my fellow course mates, uni mates and other students in public uni all around Malaysia feel the same. We are now experiencing the down side of our glorious 4-month-long break--we will be revising for final exam throughout Christmas until New Year! Or perhaps just going to start studying for it instead of revising, it is called "study week" anyway, sigh~

I suddenly feel like I missed out a lot of family time, usually during this time of the year I will be celebrating birthday with my Papa (our birth dates both fall on December you see). Never thought the simple celebrations that we used to have together with my family could be so overwhelmingly missed adding that I'm so far away from them now. OMG why am I so emo, is this normal????? And knowing that I might not be able to go back home for the coming semester break is not helping to ease this feeling either!!! I was devastated to see the official exam schedule when it came out, thanks to it my pre-booked plane tic is officially burnt (damndamndamn).

Hey people usually say posting your problem for them to see will not help you to solve it, but I have to admit I'm actually feeling much better now (like literally).

My caffeine intake has begun to kick in and by this I end the post for today, and I shall start typing for my reports. Wait wait, by caffeine intake I mean coffee drinks (okay?).

hey

hey..yes, hey (with a smile). that's how i greet when i see people. well, i'm not actually going to see anybody face to face here, but i suppose it's okay to give a warm welcome for those who happens to read my blog. =)

a little impromptu move in starting a blog, since i have so much spare time to write things down now. did you ask why now? simply because i'm on my semester break, not just any break, it is a once-in-a-lifetime semester break of about 4 months long, yeah 4 months long! believe your eyes!

and so i thought why don't i engrave the things that i go through during my extra long holiday, here? the point is, i'm sure the time will be used to gather with family members and hang out with good old friends (as i'm now studying away from my hometown and my friends are all studying in different institutions). so having them around will surely be a bliss for me and i'd like to petrify those sweet sweet memories right here. =)

i have thought of writing them down the old-fashioned way, as in writing a diary or a journal but since these options involve pen and paper, and not to forget manual hand-writing, i refused to go with the idea (you see, i want to stay away from things that remind me about lectures and assignments, no pen and paper during breaks!!!)

so let's see how did my holidays have gone so far. it has been 2 months and i have done only a few things (as i'm still stranded somewhere not in my hometown).

i have taken a short semester for a uni subject. this course requires the students who are taking it to involve in community service. all i can say is the tasks were not easy, however everybody co-operated and made the program a success.

and then there i was, becoming a part-timer in the 14th Sukma Games as a secretariat staff at their table-tennis event. it was very very tiring, but i gained some new experiences as well as new friends here. =)

after that i had literally nothing to do! for a few days i pretty much keep repeating the same routine--wake up, eat, surf the net, sleep, and then wake up again the next morning, and the cycle continues until! i saw a guitar and start learning how to play it. i have to admit it is very difficult learn, my fingers were hurt for days and yet i only managed to learn one...chord...the G (sigh~)...this is still an on-going process of learning so hopefully i can get my hands to play a few more chords soon. =)
